eavam is an original brand that is located in Chiangmai, in the northern part of Thailand. We make cosmetics using carefully selected natural materials in a way that respects the local wisdom that has been passed down to us. It’s been over 10 years since we started making daily skin care items together with our Thai staff, such as soaps, facial creams, facial clay masks.

We also place a special emphasis on the presentation of our products, in order to convey our belief that true internal beauty should be amplified externally.

eavam production facility resembles a studio more than an industrial factory. It is designed to be a more intimate space in order to stimulate creativity and infuse a positive spirit into our products. We utilize traditional Thai handicraft techniques and all natural materials sourced locally from Chiangmai, such as hand woven cloth, fruits, food and dairy products. Thanks to ready access to these fresh and unique materials, we can make our products even more special.

Our products are works of art that are made through a combination of naturally sourced materials. But just like our skin, our products cannot reach it’s full potential until it is made up with a beautiful exterior.

While mass production techniques have provided people with abundant products at a cheaper price, this cheapness comes with its own cost. Mass production tends to fuel a “race-to-the-bottom” with both the workers’ livelihoods and the product’s quality paying the price.

eavam（イーヴァム）は、安全で良質な素材を厳選し、人々の生活の知恵と手技、そしてその歴史に敬意を払いながら、タイ北部、チェンマイの地にて企画開発するオリジナル・クラフト・ブランドです。私たちeavamのメンバーは、すでにこの地で10年以上、タイのスタッフたちと共に、コールドプロセス石鹸やクリーム、クレイなどの開発と製造を行ってきました。

eavamで作られる製品は、こうした基礎的なスキンケア・アイテムをベースに、それらを入れる器、身の回りの用途や暮らしの彩りに欠かせない織物など、日々の生活の中に上質で美しいしつらえを製品と共に提案します。それは私たちの身の回りから、そして身体の内と外からの美しさの提案です。

使う道具類や工場の規模、働く人々の居ずまいは、工房と呼ぶのがふさわしい小さな私たちの作業場ですが、ここは化粧品を作る工場というよりも、むしろお菓子屋さんかレストランの厨房のようです。この外の光がたっぷり入る清潔な工房は、大量生産こそできませんが、eavamの製品たちが生まれる場所としては理想的です。チェンマイ周辺の織物や陶器、木工、金属加工などの手工業の伝統、たくさんの種類のハーブや果実、蜜蝋や椰子、オーガニックな環境で育てられた農産物や乳製品、こうした豊かな自然の素材は、特別なコスメティックであるeavamを作るために欠かせないものたちです。

これら特別な材料から作られる、あたかも手工芸品のようなeavamのスキンケア・アイテムは、合理的で使い勝手良く、かつ洗練された器に入れられ、美しいデザインを施されることで完成します。

私たちは、工業製品は時代の要請と技術の成果であり、生活を豊かにする優れたものたちを数多く製造してきたと認識します。とはいえ残念ながら、大量生産品の中には相当数、安価なコストと引き換えに失ったもの、数年、数十年といった時間の使用に耐えない安易な意匠、品質に問題のあるもの、そして美しさから遠く離れたものも多く存在します。高品質で性能が高く、安全で美しい私たちの製品は、ひとつひとつ丁寧に手間ひまかけて大切に作られます。
